What you need to know

Furtwangen University offers a licence for MATLAB, Simulink and all accompanying toolboxes for the entire university. This licence allows the use of all MathWorks products for research, teaching and study for all staff and students of the university on both university-owned and private end devices.

Use the following instructions to create and/or link your MathWorks account to your Campus-Wide License, install MATLAB, and access MATLAB Online and Online Training.

What you have to do

  1. Go to the MathWorks portal of Furtwangen University: External link opens in a new window:to the MathWorks-Portal

    • Users with an existing MathWorks account or those who wish to renew their licence, follow the same steps.

  2. Under MATLAB click on the button "Register now" and request Simulink, see Figure 2.1.

  3. Enter your HFU login name and click on “Next”, see Figure 3.1 and now log in with your HFU account (HFU user name and password), see Figure 3.2:

    • Example student: xyz12345@stud.hs-furtwangen.de
      Example HFU staff: xyz1234@hs-furtwangen.de

  4. Follow the workflow guide to create a MathWorks account or log into your existing account. Make sure your MathWorks account uses your HFU email address.

    • Your MathWorks account will now be automatically linked to the campus-wide license.

  5. From this page you can download and install MATLAB, start MATLAB Online and access online training courses.

    • MATLAB registration is now complete.
