What you need to know

Furtwangen University offers a licence for MATLAB, Simulink and all accompanying toolboxes for the entire university. This licence allows the use of all MathWorks products for research, teaching and study for all staff and students of the university on both university-owned and private end devices.

The following basic MathWorks products are also included in the campus licence. If you need these options, please write a ticket:

What you have to do

  1. Using the following instructions, you can create your MathWorks account and/or link it to the campus-wide license, install MATLAB, and access MATLAB Online and Online Training.

    • Users with an existing MathWorks account or those who wish to renew their licence, follow the same steps.

  2. Under MATLAB click on the button "Register now" and request Simulink.

  3. Log in with your HFU account (HFU username and password) (see Figure 3.1) and click on "Accept" in the following dialogue (see Figure 3.2).

  4. Follow the workflow guide to create a MathWorks account or log into your existing account. Make sure your MathWorks account uses your HFU email address.

  5. Your MathWorks account will now be automatically linked to the campus-wide license.

  6. After logging in with your MathWorks account, you will be redirected to External link opens in a new window:matlab.mathworks.com. From this page you can download and install MATLAB, start MATLAB Online and access online training.
