(Group) task - change task (delete, edit, add)

FAQ FELIX-1031

What you need to know

You want to change (add, delete, edit) an assignment of a (group) task?

You can do this either via the course editor or via the tab "Edit tasks and sample solutions" in the course view (as described on this HelpCard).

The following scenarios are possible:

1). Add, delete, edit task
The task has not yet been started by any student and can therefore be modified without any problems.

2). Edit task
The task can be edited even if the task has already been started by students.

3rd) Replace task (delete / add new)
The assignment can be deleted. However, new tasks cannot be added for all students if the task has already been started by students. Add a new task via another course element.

What you have to do

  1. You want to change the task.
You can follow this step if...
... all students are still at the "Assignment" stage.
... the course is not yet published for the students (e.g. status "Preparation") or the course element is blocked for the learners.

    • Bring up the (group) task element in your course and click on the "Edit task and sample solutions" tab.

    • Edit your task, delete it and / or add a task.

    • The task is modified for all participants.

  2. You want to modify the task. Some participants are already at the "Task submission" stage
This means that the task has already been started by some students.

    • You can still edit them for everyone, but you cannot replace them.

    • Bring up the (group) task element in your course and click on the "Edit tasks and sample solutions" tab.

    • Edit your task.

    • The task is modified for all participants.

  3. You want to delete or replace the task. Some participants are already in the "Task submission" step.
This means that the task has already been started by some students.

    • Bring up the (group) task element in your course and click on the "Edit tasks and sample solutions" tab.

    • Delete the task by clicking on the trashcan.

    • The task is deleted for all participants and students who have already started the process can no longer access the task.

    • Add the new task via a separate course element so that all participants (regardless of which process stage they are at) have access to it. For example, use the folder (see HelpCard 30-030), a single page (see HelpCard 30-040) or the document module (see HelpCard 30-220).
