Accessing e-books, e-journals and databases

What you need to know

The HFU libraries offer members of the university extensive access to over 350,000 e-books, e-journals and a large number of licensed databases covering all subject areas. These resources enable you to conduct efficient and convenient research for your studies and research. You can access these e-media via the HFU intranet and make the most of your library's wide range of services.

What you have to do

  1. Log in to the External link opens in a new window:HFU intranet to use the digital services of the HFU libraries.

  2. You have access to the library's digital services.

    • #Library identifies the digital services of the HFU libraries.

  3. You can now select the following applications of the HFU libraries.

  4. BOSS (Fig.4.1): The research portal gives you access to licensed e-books and e-resources (e.g. videos from LinkedIn Learning etc.).

    • You can find out how to research and use e-media under the following link (Helpcard BIB 20-020).

  5. DBIS (Fig. 4.2): The database info system provides you with an overview of scientific databases that are freely accessible or available to you through a license from the HFU libraries (Helpcard Internal link opens in the same window:50-010).

  6. EZB (Fig.4.3): The electronic journal database allows you to search for academic journals licensed by the HFU libraries (Helpcard BIB 20-050).
