Using bwSync and Share with a client

What you have to do

1. Please choose from the following options, depending on your current setup.

   Reinstall the client

   1. If you have already installed Nextcloud, you will not be able to install the bwsync & Share client – in this case, please follow Option 2.

   2. Download the relevantExternal link opens in a new window: Nextcloud client or app to use bwSync and Share, and follow the installation instructions.

      • The client or app has been successfully installed on your operating system.

   3. Link the client/app to your account.

      • The process of installing the client on Windows is described in detail on the Helpcard “ Internal link opens in the same window:Connect bwSync and Share to your account via the Windows client” (BWSYNC 10-040).

      • bwSync and Share can now be used on the device.

   Use an existing Nextcloud installation

   1. Open the Nextcloud app you have already installed and click on the “Add account” option in the profile menu.

      • The “Add Nextcloud Account” window appears.

   2. Then click on the “Log in” button in the new window.

   3. Enter the server address “https://bwsyncandshare.kit.edu/” in the input field and click the “Next” button.

      • Authorisation is starting.

   4. Log in using your HFU account and grant access to your account.

      • The Nextcloud folder configuration is displayed.

   5. Finally, please confirm the settings by clicking on “Connect”.

      • If you would like your data to be synchronised to a directory other than the default one, you can select a different folder. 

      • The Nextcloud window appears.

   6. The bwSync & Share account is established once it is also accessible via the drop-down menu.
