Note for Windows users

After using the automatic update function (update from 27.02.2025) of the Element Client, you may no longer be able to open the app - to resolve the problem, please reinstall the app via the manufacturer's website.

What you need to know

These instructions describe how to access Matrix via the browser (without a pre-installed client).

What you have to do

  1. Bring up the address External link opens in a new window:matrix.hs-furtwangen.de/#/login over the browser.

    • The login screen will be displayed.

  2. Click on the “Continue with Microsoft” link below the login screen.

    • You will be redirected to the HFU account login.

  3. Log in with your HFU account.

  4. Confirm the note from Matrix about using the application via the HFU account by clicking on “Continue”.

    • The Matrix Chat interface appears.

  5. Remember to set up a key backup after logging in for the first time so that you can access your chat messages again after another login.
