Preparing a poll (Quiz)

TWEED 10-010

What you need to know

Use the quiz function to turn listeners into active participants.

With this feature you can create anonymous...
... quick polls (e.g. with yes / no)
... and manually created quizzes.

Both knowledge questions (e.g. What characteristics belong to ...) and competence questions (e.g. Calculate XY) can be shown.

Tweedback offers the following question formats for your poll / quiz:
Single-choice questions, multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions.

What you have to do

  1. Log into tweedback with your Pro account and create a session using the "Quiz" function (see Helpcard Internal link opens in a new window:10-005).

    • The settings options of the quiz function open.

  2. Create quiz question: Click the orange plus sign at the bottom right of the screen to create a quiz question.

    • The "Create new quiz" window opens.

  3. Select the format of the answer (quick dial, manual or open).

    • Use Quick Dial for spontaneous single or multiple choice questions. Here you can choose between five predefined answer alternative representations (Yes - No, A-B, A-B-C, A-B-C-D, A-B-C-D-E).
However, you cannot store these answer alternatives as correct in the system. The answers have to be given orally or via your presentation.
Download file:To the PowerPoint template incl. example

    • Click on "Manual" to create individual answer alternatives. With this option, you can also store answers as correct in the system by clicking on the checkmark in front of the answer option.

    • The "Open" option allows for open questions.

  4. If necessary, enter your question in the top field and carry out your basic configurations of your question.
The default setting of the closed questions is single-choice, i.e. participants can only select one answer alternative.

    • Multiple Choice: If more than one answer alternative should be selected, then you must activate the "Multiple Choice" option. You can limit the number of selectable answer choices.

    • Absolute values instead of percentages: If you activate this option, absolute values are displayed in the results view instead of percentages.

    • Automatic termination: Here you can set time intervals after which the question will automatically end (e.g. after 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 1 minute).

    • Results view (only for Single-Choice): Here you can switch from a display in a bar chart (Bars) to a display in a pie chart (Pie).

    • Precede your question text with the corresponding semester, so you can easily distinguish between the different semester runs later on.

  5. If you click on the desired answer alternative in the "Quick selection" function, the question will be created automatically.
For "Manual" and "Open", confirm your configuration with "Create quiz".

    • The created question appears under "Prepared".

  6. Use this method to compile all your questions for the next course.

    • All questions are listed accordingly in the "Prepared" view.

    • By clicking on the three-dot menu you can edit, duplicate or delete the question.

    • If you start a question, e.g. to test it, editing and deleting is no longer possible. Also, you cannot then start this question again in the lecture. You can duplicate the question for this purpose.

  7. The preparation of the lecture quiz is completed. The questions have not yet been started and are therefore currently not yet visible to participants. How to start, run and finish your quiz can be found on Helpcard Internal link opens in the same window:10-015.
