Using semester reserved collections

What you need to know

Semester reserved collections bring together selected textbooks and essential specialist literature for individual courses. They are designed to help students prepare for, consolidate and revise course content, and make it easier to access literature relevant to examinations.

Reserved collections can be accessed online. In the reading room, these materials are shelved under the label ‘Semester collection’ and can only be borrowed overnight and at weekends, so that they are available to all students throughout the day.

Lecturers may request a semester collection at any time without formalities; the compiled literature will then be made available to students as soon as possible.

What you have to do

  1. Open the External link opens in a new window:BOSS search portal.

  2. Click on "Semester reserved collections".

  3. Select a campus and click on the desired semester collection.

  4. Select a title.

    • The `e` icon indicates e-books.

    • To query the print copies, click on the desired hit.
