eKlausur@home - Viewing and correcting test results

ONLINEPRUEFUNG 20-110

What you need to know

You have two options for viewing and evaluating test results of an eKlausur@home:

(1) Via the "Assessment Tool".
The results can be viewed, evaluated and, if necessary, corrected directly in FELIX. You can evaluate question by question (step 7) or examinee by examinee (step 8). The instructions described here guide you through an anonymised correction process. Afterwards, these corrections can be exported as an Excel file and saved on your computer.

(2) Via "Data archiving": Data archiving allows you to export the results as a zip file. This contains an Excel table and, if necessary, folders with submitted files. With this zip file you can view the test results independently from FELIX and correct them if necessary (see HelpCard Internal link opens in a new window:50-030).

If you have used our test course templates, the corrections are not visible to the examinees without further "intervention".

What you have to do

  1.  Open your exam course in the "Authoring" area.

  2. Open the test course element and click on "Participants".

    • A list of all participants entered in the course opens. You are in the same view that you can reach via Administration > Assessment tool.

  3. You can optimise the display of the table for yourself using the gear wheel on the right above the table.

    • The following options are helpful for the correction for example: Username, Last Name, First Name, Attempts, Release Assessment, Min., Max., Points, Passed, Status, Start, Progress and the "three-dot menu".

  4. First check the "Completion" column. All students who have participated in the test (=start date available) should have "Finished". Only then can the test also be assessed. If this is not the case, you can end all non-finished tests with "Pull tests" (above the table).

    • You should only use "Pull tests" above the table when all participants have completed the test.

  5. To do the correction, click "Correction tool" above the table.

    • If the button "Correct" is not displayed, open the course editor under Administration.
Click on the test element "eKlausur@home" and then on the tab "Test configuration". In the "Correction" section, switch to "Manually by course tutor" and save.
Publish the change by clicking on the red cross in the upper right corner and confirm with "Yes, automatically".

    • If the message "There is already a completed evaluation. Do you want to reopen it to correct the test again?" appears, this means that your test has already been automatically assessed due to automatically assessible questions.
However, the correction can be reopened again without loss of data.

    • You can now carry out your correction "question by question" (step 6) or "examinee by examinee" (step 7). You can also switch between the two views at any time.

  6. You want to correct the test results question by question?
When you have performed steps 1-5, you are in the "Questions" tab.

    • You can see from the overview table which questions have been automatically corrected, but you can also correct them manually.
The "Not corrected" column shows which questions were not automatically corrected. These are marked with a red exclamation mark.

    • In the overview, you can use the three-dot menu at the end of each row to:
      - Mark/demark a question for all users to review
      - Add points for the particular question to the score of all participants
      - Set points for a question for all participants

    • Click on a question that you want to correct.

    • Assign points and, if necessary, a comment. For answers that have already been automatically assessed, you can also overwrite the points.
Below the question answered by the user, you can also view the stored solution.
Individual questions can also be marked "for review".

    • Only as many points can be assigned as were previously stored in the question. You always have the option to carry out the correction by means of a generated Excel file outside of FELIX by exporting an Excel table via data archiving (see Helpcard Internal link opens in a new window:50-030).

    • Click on "Save and next participant" (or navigate with the drop-down menu above). This way you can continue navigating until you have corrected a question for all users.

    • When you reach the last question, you can go back to the overview with "Save and go to overview" and correct the next question for all users. You can always return to the "Correct" overview page via the small path displayed at the top (in green).

    • To finish the correction, continue to step 8.

  7. You want to correct the test results examinee by examinee?

    • When you have completed steps 1-5, click on the "Users" tab.

    • You can now assess the users by clicking on User 1, User 2.

    • Marking with "User 1", "User 2" ensures anonymous correction of the answers.

    • All questions are displayed per user.

    • You can see from the overview table which questions have been automatically corrected, but you can also correct them manually.
The "Not corrected" column shows which questions were not automatically corrected. These are marked with a red exclamation mark.

    • After selecting a user, click one by one on the question you want to correct.

You always have the option to perform the correction by means of a generated Excel file outside FELIX by exporting an Excel table via data archiving (see Helpcard Internal link opens in a new window:50-030).

    • By clicking on "Save and next question" you can navigate through all questions of a user. Likewise, you can jump between a user's questions in the drop-down menu at the top.

    • When you come to the last question of a user, you can click "Save and return to overview" to return to the question overview page. Click "Back to overview" again at the bottom. There you can select the next user.
You can always return to the "Correct" overview page via the small path displayed at the top (in green).

    • To finish the correction, continue to the next step.

  8. Once your correction is complete, you can save it as a "Final result" and then return to the overview table of the test element.

    • The status of the overview table will then show "Assessed".

    • If you want to make a correction again, select the corresponding examinee, click on the "three-dot menu" and select "Reopen assessment".

    • You can now download and archive your results as an Excel file using "Export results" (see above).

    • Do you need archiving? Please inform us via the standard email form in your examination course if you require archiving (you will find this under "Email templates" > "Archiving"). To ensure that the correction made in Felix can also be archived, you should request archiving from us in shortly after correction.
We can only archive for you if this request reaches us no later than a week after the official end of the exam period.
